Luffarslöjd


Welcome to the art of Luffarslöjd, another skill learned in the thriving community of Wolf Ridge ELC. This is a Swedish craft that arose during the 1920’s/30’s, as people who were out of work would turn scrapes of metal into something that could be sold at the market.  Traditional items would include egg-beating whisks, trivets, baskets, candle holders, coat hooks and jewelry.   


I have made trees before, but this time I have expanded outside my straight edge box and incorporated beads, ooo!!  I intend for this tree to be mailed to a friend.  Hmmm… I’m dreaming of a Sequoia wire tree (free standing on a table top, loosely wrapped hollow trunk…)
